The Honorable Takashi Hiraoka, former mayor of Hiroshima, Japan,
will be in Salt Lake in early August and will take part in a number of free public events during his visit. There are three opportunities to hear Mayor Hiraoka speak:

Mayor Hiraoka is the guest speaker at a special Sunday service at the
South Valley Uniitarian Universalist Society (SVUUS), 6876 South Highland Drive (just off the I-215 2000 East exit). Coffee and treats will be offered following the service. For more nformation, svuus@xmission.com.

August 6, 2008, 7:30-9:30 pm, Salt Lake City Library main auditorium.
Mayor Hiraoka will participate in a special Hiroshima and Nagasaki Commemoration, an evening of music featuring children's choirs, including Salt Lake's One Voice Children's Choir, and visiting choirs Amarume and Kashiwa from Japan, and the Singing Children of Africa. Visiting choirs are in town to attend In Harmony, the 5th Annual International Children's Music Festival, held this year in Salt Lake City. The evening's program will conclude with a candlelight vigil on the library plaza. For more information, contact UCAN.
